Lisa Bell, a dynamic interior designer and entrepreneur, is December’s Muse of the Month. Her story is one of creativity, empowerment, and a deep appreciation for beauty and connection. Can you tell us a bit about yourself, your career, and what inspires you?
Where do I begin? I’m a dynamic and passionate Hispanic woman, a proud mother, and a devoted wife. I describe myself as a kaleidoscope of vibrant colors—intense, motivated, intelligent, and fun.
Professionally, I’m an interior designer and entrepreneur. Recently, I’ve felt a growing desire to connect with women in meaningful ways. I envision creating spaces where we can openly discuss the real challenges we face as young women, middle-aged women—whether in entrepreneurship, careers, relationships, or health. Encouragement and empowerment are at the heart of my aspirations.
My inspiration is deeply rooted in my life experiences and the people I cherish. My mother’s strength, my children’s energy, and the beauty of my relationships fuel my creativity. I’m also inspired by fashion, historical architecture, design, and art—these influences guide my work and enrich my perspective.
My faith in God – It’s the cornerstone of my life, grounding me and giving me purpose.
Mentoring and inspiring women – I’m passionate about encouraging women to reach their full potential and sharing wisdom that helps them navigate life’s complexities.
Nature – There’s nothing more rejuvenating than immersing myself in the outdoors. The beauty of nature never fails to inspire and energize me.
Despite my love for all things elegant and refined, I’m a tomboy at heart. I find joy in the simplicity and thrill of things like hiking, playing sports, and being outdoors.
Can you share a story of a time when travel changed your perspective on life?
My first trip to Spain and France was life-changing. I had always admired French culture, fashion, architecture, and design, but experiencing it firsthand was something else entirely. Walking through Paris, surrounded by breathtaking buildings, cathedrals, and the energy of the city, my soul felt completely alive. The food, the fashion, the people—it all took my breath away. That trip deepened my appreciation for beauty, history, and the art of living fully.
Describe your perfect weekend getaway.
For me, the perfect weekend getaway combines adventure with luxury. I’d love to go somewhere with incredible hiking trails, breathtaking views, and the tranquility of nature. After a day of exploration, I’d relax in a beautiful, luxurious hotel—a perfect balance of simplicity and indulgence.
If you could design a themed room for our hotel, what theme would you choose and why?
Given my background in designing Muse interiors, this question feels personal. If I were to choose a new theme, it would be Wabi-Sabi. This Japanese-inspired aesthetic celebrates imperfection and the beauty of nature. I’d use organic textures like linen, textured walls, and stone flooring, paired with vintage pieces to create a serene, timeless space. It would be a room that invites relaxation and contemplation—a retreat from the chaos of everyday life.
